Matthew Chipman is one of The Blackburn Academy’s multi instrumentalists. Majoring in Saxophone and Clarinet, Matt also has experience with the Flute and Piano. Since completing high school in 2017, Matt has been tutoring woodwinds across Melbourne as well as performing in community musical theatre and wind ensembles. Matt is currently studying Classical Performance on Saxophone at Monash University. His teaching approach aims to build solid fundamentals to help develop skills needed for all styles and exams. In particular, Matt has a focus on performance techniques that can benefit all ages and skill levels. He has studied under many great Australian saxophonists such as Lachlan Davidson and Ian Godfrey.
