Amelia Mason is a passionate musician and current Voice student at the Melbourne Conservatorium of Music, with six years of classical vocal training. While she primarily teaches contemporary singing, she incorporates classical vocal technique and warm ups to help students develop healthy, confident and expressive voices.
Alongside her studies and teaching, she is also an emerging contemporary artist under the name of MILS MASON and currently developing and recording her own original music with a record label.
Her teaching style is supportive and personalised. She believes every student learns differently and adapts lessons to cater for different ages, personalities, experiences and individual goals. For example, with one of her non-verbal students, she communicates with him using speech therapy techniques. She loves making lessons fun, creative, and engaging while also helping develop confidence and a genuine love of music.
She teaches a diverse range of students and enjoys finding creative ways to help each student connect to their voice with a range of different communication needs.
Amelia believes there is no “right age” or “right time” to start singing. One of her students is 80 years old, and as a child she was dropped from a choir and is only just now finding the confidence to start singing again. Proving that it’s never too late to find your voice!
Her goal is for every student to leave a lesson feeling encouraged and proud of their progress and excited to keep learning and singing.
