Jay Pinfold – Drums

Jay Pinfold hails from Bloemfontein South Africa. At age 14, Jay commenced his drum studies leading to a life long journey of music and a fruitful career. Jay has played in various international bands over the years. Thriving on hard rock and a passion for metal, jazz, blues & progressive rock, Jay has an eclectic influence driving him when he’s belting out a beat.

Jay has travelled the world playing music. Indonesia found him playing with the likes of Mike Tramp from White Lion; Norway had Jay and his band opening for Slash & Friends and while at the onset of his career back in Australia, Jay became a student for several years of the renowned Aussie drum teacher, Darryn Farrugia who has played with the likes of Joe Cocker, B. B. King, Chubby Checker, Eartha Kitt etc.

In 2007, Jay teamed up with Aussie rock band, Juke Kartel a band of brothers who live to create music. Among the band’s many accomplishments include being the first unsigned artist to perform at the MTV Awards Australia as well as being invited by Nickelback to open two stadium gigs in Melbourne; followed by a national arena tour of the USA and Canada.

In 2009 Juke Kartel relocated to Los Angeles and signed a record deal to Carved Records. The band went on to perform over 60 shows in Los Angeles on the renowned Sunset Strip as well as shows with Slash & Friends (Ozzy Osbourne, Dave Navarro, Fergie, Billy Idol, Andrew Stockdale, Chester Bennington, Travis Barker and more).

Jay’s talent and drive captured the attention and endorsement of Sabian whilst in LA; a brand which needs no introduction.

Jay is now ready for the next chapter and focused full steam ahead with an invigorated passion and drive to share his accrued drumming experiences and solid sound with the masses.
