Hugh Kirne began playing the guitar when he was 14 years old and has never looked back since. Hugh is an actively gigging musician who performs regularly and teaches students from primary school level right through to adults.

Hugh has a Bachelor of Music from Melbourne Polytechnic (Formerly NMIT) and is currently completely a Masters of Teaching at Deakin University. Hugh has been a guitar teacher since 2013.

Hugh began his musical journey playing all his favourite tunes from classic bands such as Led Zeppelin, Fleetwood Mac and The Beatles. In later years Hugh found inspiration in many different places including jazz/fusion with some of his favourite guitarists being Larry
Carlton, Guthrie Govan, Mike Stern and Brett Garsed.

Hugh understands the importance of self-direction in learning and his teaching will always be tailored to each individual student and their personal learning goals.
