Darren is an accomplished musician with over 13 years of experience playing the drums and cajon. He holds a degree in Applied Music Performance from Box Hill Institute, where he honed his skills and developed his passion for music. He also fell in love with the funk genre during his studies and always aims to incorporate the groove and fun rhythmic style into his teaching.
As a teacher, Darren is patient, encouraging, and passionate about sharing his knowledge and experience with his students. He has a personalised approach to teaching, tailoring his lessons to suit the needs and goals of each student. 
For students new to drumming, he starts by teaching the fundamentals of drumming, including rhythm, timing, and basic techniques. For younger drummers, he creates a fun and engaging environment that fosters creativity and encourages exploration. For drummers sitting for exams, he provides structured lessons that cover all the necessary skills and techniques required to succeed. Regardless of the student’s level, Darren believes that music is a way to express oneself and aims to impart that feeling behind the drum kit.
