Jessica Hieser is a professional musician, actor and teacher. At age 11 she received scholarship entry into the internationally renowned school for child prodigies, the Victorian College of the Arts Secondary
School (VCASS). She achieved Grade 8 standard for flute at age 12, later achieving Grade 8 as well on clarinet, and saxophone.

Although classically trained, Jess loves many styles of music, and in her early 20s began booking shows for original singer songwriters, including herself, and has since written 400+ original songs. An expert musician, and experienced performer, Jess has been teaching for 20 years, and specialises in accelerated learning, in focusing on the unique individual, Jess works within students’ ability to ensure lessons are fun, engaging, and thorough.

Coming from intensive training herself, Jess understands the importance of ‘teaching the right way’, and has approaches to learning theory, as an
example, which ‘cuts out the nonsense’ and gives students genuine avenues to understand music theory, without too much ‘brain strain’!

Combining theory, technical skills, and improvisation in her lessons, Jess has an excellent reputation of training not only beginner and expert musicians, but also trains ‘singer-songwriters from in guitar and voice, or piano and voice, as well as teaching lyrics, and song structures, in various music styles.

Jess is also a professional actor and works as an acting coach. She has secured agents for several of her students, and offers industry insights needed to save money and time rather than new actors pursuing
‘starmaker’ type courses which usually make much more money than the acting student’s ever earn!

Jess is about training new actors to be in the best position and capable of navigating the acting industry successfully. In all her teaching work, Jess is about maximising learning, and creating a solid grounding for future
success in both music and acting. Jess prepares students for traditional as well as contemporary exams, and in all aspects of auditioning and performance.
