Shota Ikeda teaches and performs various styles of music. These include pop, rock, acoustic, classical but he is most passionate about jazz. 

Shota studied music at Melbourne Polytechnic and specialises in teaching guitar. It was here he obtained an Advanced Diploma in Music Performance. This has allowed him to dedicate his practice and study to jazz and contemporary music.

Under the guidance of established jazz guitarist Jack Pantazis, Shota consolidated his knowledge of jazz and theory to compose original songs performed by his jazz trio band. He has honed skills playing jazz and improvising many styles including swing, rock ballads, latin and blues.
